Okay, so as I watched Jokerfor the thousandth time, I’ve noticed something that may have not been pointed out yet, so here we go :
Arthur is actually right-handed whereas Joker is left-handed.
Here are some caps I did (dunno how to make gifs) in chronological order of the movie.
Arthur painting his face : right hand
First time Arthur dances and play with the gun : left hand
Arthur taking notes at the club : right hand
Here comes the interesting part : he starts the sentence with his right hand…
…and finishes it with his left.
Attack on the subway : Arthur gives in to Joker, left hand
The rehearsal (takes place just after the scene where he realizes he fantasized his relationship with Sophie and his discovery about his mom in Arkham)

Side note : When he attacks Randall with scissors he does it with his right hand, but his left side is turned toward Randall, so… maybe I’m wrong? He may just be ambidextrous without any other meaning than that.
